Summary
Prices are indicative benchmark data supplied by Twelve Data, cached for reliability, converted into supported currencies, and displayed per troy ounce. They are informational values—not executable dealer quotes or financial advice.
Source and update timing
Gold and silver benchmark quotes come from Twelve Data and are cached by the site’s Firebase backend.
The website requests a fresh cached value when a live tool loads. The timestamp shown beside a quote is the market-data update time. Markets close and data providers can be delayed, so a recently loaded page does not always imply a newly traded price.
Units and currencies
Precious-metal benchmark prices use the troy ounce: exactly 31.1034768 grams.
Gram and kilogram values are derived from the troy-ounce quote. Non-USD views apply the corresponding currency conversion supplied by the price service. Rounding is for display only and can create small differences from a dealer calculation.
Calculator limitations
Value calculators estimate contained metal value from weight, purity, and the current benchmark.
They do not include dealer premiums, bid-ask spreads, refining deductions, taxes, shipping, assay results, collectible value, or local fees. A calculator result is not an offer to buy or sell.
Availability and stale data
The live tools fail closed when a quote cannot be verified.
If the website cannot obtain a valid response, it displays an unavailable message instead of inventing or silently extrapolating a price. Always check the visible timestamp before relying on a value.
